In a baby’s room nursery rhymes, alphabet, animals, and
playful themes are great for stimulating the minds of infants.A favorite
cartoon, movie, or television character can make a room a fun retreat
for a preschooler.
As boys grow they tend to prefer themes that are
more masculine. Sports, chess, computers, collectibles, groups,
hobbies, outdoors, science, space, dinosaurs, and animal themes
can all be very appealing to them.
For growing girls, princesses, art, cuddly
animals, groups, and some sports or outdoor themes can be very
engaging. Spunky bright colors such as apple green, mango, and
yellows can also make a girls room a very cheerful place.
If the focus for a room is more long term, then
a neutral background such as beige or crème, with the addition
of posters, appliqués, artwork, collectibles, or memorabilia can
create a room that can simply tailor to the changing tastes of
children.
